Theives of The Mark

Last day of August and I had to make sure to get another post in here so here's the progress. 8784w/28p. I changed up the font so it would be a little more pleasing to the eye and easier to read for me. so now there's more on each page but anyway, that doesn't matter to anyone but me. I like where it's going even though the story keeps chaging as I write it. I keep getting new ideas from all over the place alot coming from video games like X-Men Legends. Also thanks Grant for the peek at Ninja Gaiden II. It just totally fueld my imagination!

Will I have more written today? Probably but we'll see how it goes. We have to go get the kids in Algonac as they've been hanging with Grandma and Grandpa.

Back to it

It's been a couple of weeks since I've had the chance to sit down and write again. It makes me sad but here I am this morning bright and early (read as dark and groggy). Maxwell House brews in the distance begging me to come sup before the pot's done with its morning chore. The hog was hung...wipe the sleep out ma eye...it's groundhog day etc.
And BTW: we're up to a raging 5944 words as of the night before last. I did get a chance to work some then too. Okay, coffee's done man, now we're ready to go! =)

P.S. As of this afternoon: 6759w/24p (Had to finish the last couple hundred pages of "Well of Ascension" by Brandon Sanderson. I literally stood up and cheered when Straff bought it! And let's go Sazed, damn! Amazing read as always...

On the ball as always...

It's only been out for three months now but I finally got to see Iron Man in the theater! I actually couldn't beleive it was still out there being shown but there ya go. Short and sweet version, loved it. Funny and action-packed. I really liked to see the suit coming to life and the entire journey that Stark makes throughout the film makes for some great character development. A good ride and definately one for the DVD collection this Christmas (so you know, if you were in need of ideas for me...)

Latest news from "Theives Of The Mark"

Progress is continuing and after three chapters we stand at 5,021 words/18 pages. The chapters are relatively short in a Dean Koontz style. Keeps the flow "flowing" I guess.

I'm not really sure if word count is important but perhaps it's a fact that publishers would want to know. I put it here basically to map some progress as Karen Miller has been doing on her blogs for Witches INC. Also this can put you at a relative page count...150,000 words/535 pages (roughly). That seems like a good goal to shoot for, eh?

Writing more today if I can...besides, I just realized that Brandon Sanderson avoids a somewhat necessary prologue by placing bits of it at the beginning of each chapter. What does this accomplish? it serves the information in tiny, digestible amounts while creating some mystery of where it's coming from without boring the redaer with "uneeded information just for the sake of background". I'm sure others do this and White Wolf has put many different things atop their chapter headings over the years; song lyrics, bible passages, poems, small related scenes, character studies...you name it. Maybe I'll try to fit in a description of the Coming of The Mark into this style.
